AICOL (Australian International College of Language)
is a fully Accredited ELICOS (English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students) institution. The teaching staff are highly qualified and experienced in teaching English language, and preparing overseas students for internationally recognized tests and further study.

Where is AICOL
AICOL is situated on the famous Gold Coast of Queensland, Australia. Our modern premises and facilities are centrally located in Southport, the traditional education center of the Gold Coast. Courses Available
Foundation English
This program, intended for complete beginners or near beginners, provides a thorough grounding in the basics of English grammar. By the end of the course students will have acquired the "survival" communication skills necessary for living and travelling in an English speaking country. They will also be ready to benefit from AICOL's General English "Plus" or High School Preparation programs.
Course Length: 1 - 48 weeks, as required.
General English "Plus"
A range of exciting and innovative courses in communication skills for people who need English for professional or social purposes or for personal development, General English courses are available at four levels of proficiency from Elementary to Upper-Intermediate. A focus on the development of speaking skills, computer-assisted language learning (CALL) and study skills are integral components of all courses. A special feature of AICOL's General English program is the availability of a large range of Special Options which allow courses to be tailored to meet individual student learning needs. The range of Special Options available varies from time to time but includes: Business English, Australian Studies, Pronunciation, Conversation Club, English for Tourism and Hospitality as well as preparation for a variety of international language tests.

English for Academic Purposes
This course, which has an entry requirement of Upper-Intermediate level proficiency in English, aims to prepare students for tertiary studies in Australia at diploma, undergraduate or postgraduate level. Students undergo a highly intensive program of study, which includes: Academic Writing, Presentation and Seminar Skills, Note-taking, Library and Research Skills, Study Skills and Computer Competency. The program also prepares students for the ASLPR and IELTS tests, the English language examinations required for entry to TAFE and university study.

High School Preparation
This program, recognised by many high schools on the Gold Coast as the most effective of its type, is designed to provide students with the English and study skills necessary to succeed in an Australian high school. AICOL also offers a high school placement service for students who successfully complete the preparation program. The growing number of our former students completing high school in Australia and going on to higher education attests to the quality of this program.

English for Young Learners (6 - 13 Years)
Designed for young learners aged six to twelve years. This course helps to prepare young children for the future in a happy loving and secure environment. Attention is given to individual development in a multi-national class to ensure each child will not only acquire skills in English language but will develop a love of language-learning which will last throughout life. Young Learners gain The Competitive Edge.

English and Information Technology (IT)

A range of short courses are designed to suit individual needs, combining English study with sightseeing or recreational activities such as golf, horse riding, tennis, surfboard riding, sailing etc.

AICOL is able to custom-design a study tour to meet the specific requirements of your special interest group. We have several years experience in the provision of holiday English courses combined with sightseeing and recreational activities or with work experience programs.
