Junior School Welcome Within the Junior School we believe that children should feel safe at all times and be treated with respect and kindness while gaining resilience and developing responsibility. Transition Years The Years 7/8 Transition Program aims to make the change between primary school and secondary school a series of small steps rather than a giant leap. The students are gradually introduced to the different elements of the secondary school. This happens both in the curricular and extracurricular activities of the College. The program aims to develop a positive secure and supportive environment in which the students are given opportunities to accept responsibility for their own learning and behaviour and to recognise the needs of others. Senior Years The majority of our students are university-bound and our course offerings are intended to facilitate this. Yet we also offer varied and engaging pathways designed for those students seeking TAFE entry or employment. We hope that our students experience academic challenge and rigour throughout their time at the College and that a pathway can be provided which will meet individual needs. To this end there is a great deal of choice and variety in the electives offered to Years 9 and 10 students and all Years 7 and 8 students have exposure to as many of our academic programs as possible. For those students who seek further academic challenges our extension programs have evolved from careful consideration of the latest thinking on gifted and talented schooling. Support classes are offered to those students who require academic help and one-on-one or small group encouragement and guidance. Homework Cafe & Academic Support All Learning Areas and subjects across each year group offer academic support in either before-school or after-school sessions. For those students who desire the support of a supervised homework program our innovative Homework Café which operates Monday to Thursday until 5. 00pm is a structured and quiet place where students can work in the secure knowledge that a teacher is available for help and guidance on organisation of work commitments. Extra Curricular Program All Saints’ College boasts an extensive extracurricular program incorporating a variety of cultural sporting and academic pursuits. Some of these include Chess debating many Choral and Instrumental Ensembles mock Trials robotics drama service rowing netball rugby touch and Girls’ Football to name a few. All Saints’ Swimming Club offers year-round squad training and a learn to swim program in state-of-the-art facilities at the All Saints’ Aquatic Centre.
