Learning Our young people in Years 7 and 8 are welcomed into the Montagne Centre which is designed specifically to cater for students beginning secondary school. Structured learning spaces provide our young people with the opportunity to build their literacy and numeracy skills. We have a vibrant electives program operating at both Years 9 and 10 that allows students to follow a particular interest for a semester or a whole year. Our young people in Year 10 also have a range of Vocational Education Training (VET) and pre Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) options open to them. Assumption College has a broad range of VCE offerings. Many of our young people in Year 11 accelerate to take Year 12 studies. Boarding Kilmore is about an hour’s drive from Melbourne and has an essentially country flavour. Assumption College has always had a strong component of boarders from Melbourne and the country areas of Victoria NSWand Tasmania. Currently our boarding facilities provide a home away from home for boys and girls. The boarding experience is marked by a strong family spirit. Supervised study is a great attraction to prospective parents and boarders. The boarders actively participate in the College’s sporting teams and in other co-curricular activities such as music drama and debating.
