Our Curriculum

The College is committed to two focus areas; Academic Excellence and the Catholic Faith. At Immaculate Heart College we offer Phase 1 of the Australian Curriculum (English mathematics science and History) to all students from Pre-primary to Year 4 whilst all of the other Learning Areas are from the Western Australian Curriculum Framework. Our Kindergarten adheres to the Early Years Learning Framework. Within the field of academia we are focusing on improved standards in literacy and numeracy across all year levels brought about through extensive Professional Learning opportunities for our teaching and leadership staff as well as much investment in appropriate teaching and learning resources. Areas of specialty include the teaching of Modern Greek (Languages Education) and one-on-one tuition in Piano (Music Lessons). The College also runs a very successful Tutorial System to help students improve academically socially and spiritually.

Faith & Values

The teaching of the Catholic Faith occurs both in a formal capacity on a daily basis as well as informally through integration and cross-curricula teaching and learning and it involves all members of the College community; students staff as well as the parent body. The Religious Education and Virtues Program of the College is integral to the teaching of the Catholic Faith and Christian values as well as to the way in which behaviour is managed and restorative practice is implemented. In this regard immaculate Heart College is helping to shape and build a strong moral character in each and every child.

Our Community

At Immaculate Heart College we are blessed with a team of very hard working and committed educators and other professionals as well as community members. These include our College Board of Directors and Advisory Council members our teaching and administrative staff and our parent body particularly through the IHC Parents and Friends Association.
