We are a school with a difference in that we are complementary to traditional main stream school. KTTC offers an alternative to main stream schooling. We are ideal for students who do not intend to obtain an OP and are interested in one of the trades we offer. Students get to complete school with their QCE and pursue a trade by gaining a Certificate III in their chosen field with the possibility of going straight into employment. While we will encourage school-based apprenticehips they are optional. The education and training are carried out on site from Monday to Thursday throughout the school year. Work experience is time Trades available at KTTC KTTC offers Certificate III in: • Automotive• Retail Baking• Commercial Cookery• Hairdressing Achievement Opportunities • Obtain a Queensland Studies Authority (QSA) approved Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE). • Obtain a Certificate III Trade• Obtain a Certificate II in Business as a core subject• Enter a school-based apprenticeship• Earn while you learn• Gain workplace experience whilst completing the QCE The Credits - Queensland Certificate of Education At KTTC students can achieve a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and commence a school-based apprenticeship/traineeship in one of four key trade fields. Student learning follows a QCE pattern of study in Mathematics (4 Credits) english (4 Credits) certificate II in Business (4 Credits) as well as a VET trade elective (8 Credits) selected from four available qualifications. This equates to 20 credits required to gain the QCE. We cater for individual learning styles KTTC will provide a contemporary and innovative learning environment with educators actively associated with the chosen trades providing an environment of relevance and engagement. KTTC seeks to enhance a student’s practical skill and knowledge but contribute towards developing the key leadership principles and values that support a student’s transition from learning to the workplace environment. Leadership principles and values have been identified as foundational for success in today’s marketplace; they are key employability skills in an ever-changing marketplace.
