Population: The majority of Benin's 6.7 million people live in the south. The population is young, with a life expectancy of 50 years. About 42 African ethnic groups live in this country.
Capital City: Porto-Novo (also known as Hogbonou and Adjac ) is the official capital of the
West African nation of Benin, and was the capital of French Dahomey.
