Study English in CanadaLethbridge College CanadaEnglish Language CentreThe English Language Centre at Lethbridge College has been offering English as a second language (ESL) training for over 35 years. Students 18 years of age and over can study academic ESL for a full or partial semester throughout the year. Classes are small (average 17 students) and the Centre provides a warm family environment to students from all corners of the globe. ESL instructors are all ATESL accredited, highly qualified and experienced, and work hard to provide personalized language training to all students. International students have two options for accommodations: homestay or College residence. The host family experience is an important part of learning a language. Living with a host family gives the international student an opportunity to practice English and to learn about Canadian culture first hand. However, students can also choose to live in College Residence and share a suite with other College students, where they will learn to live in a Canadian group environment. Lethbridge College is the right choice for you! Established in 1957, LC is Canada's first public community college. Today, it has grown to a thriving, modern educational centre of over 7, 000 students. The College is home to nationally-acclaimed sports teams and award-winning instructors, and boasts a facility complete with a recreation complex, playing fields, a library and media centre, cafeteria and restaurant, bookstore, counselling services, and computers laboratories. International students can begin their studies in the English Language Centre, and continue in any of the 50+ career training or full university transfer programs. The ambiance is friendly, classes are small, and satisfaction is high. The College is located at the south end of the city resting on Southern Alberta's majestic coulees overlooking the Oldman River and the Rocky Mountains to the west. Lethbridge has a population of over 80, 000, and is the service centre of Southern Alberta. It can be reached by air, with daily 30-minute flights from Calgary, Alberta to the Lethbridge Airport, or you may wish to rent a car or take a bus for the two-hour drive south from Calgary. Either way, the trip is unforgettable, with mountains and rolling hills to the west, and waving wheat fields to the east. Warm westerly winds called chinookscreate warm summers and mild winters, so the climate is temperate by Canadian standards. Adventurous newcomers to Lethbridge are but a short distance from Rocky Mountain national parks and ski resorts, two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and an abundance of natural scenery that invites outdoor living. Lethbridge offers everything of a much larger city, including several shopping malls, live theatre, symphony orchestra, nightclubs and much more. As you can see, Lethbridge College has it all. Our diversity and flexibility have made us an acknowledged national leader in English language training. Make Lethbridge College your home away from home! CONTACT
