El Gouna International SchoolEl Gouna International School is located on the Red Sea coast, approximately 22 kms north of Hurghada. The school, which is private and co-educational, was founded in 1998 to provide educational facilities for the children of international and Egyptian families living in the area. The International Section of El Gouna International School follows a modified version of the English National Curriculum, which includes Arabic from age four and a choice of languages in the secondary department. It has a three-term year, starting in early September. The National section program and calendar are set by the Ministry of Education. After-school activities are held three days a week. In addition to 23 air-conditioned classrooms and activities room, there are art, music and IT rooms, a library, a science laboratory and a spacious outdoor play area with an astro-turf surface. Classes are small, with a maximum of twenty pupils and currently extend to Year 11/Secondary 1. El Gouna International School is open to any child who could benefit from the programme offered. Enrolment is based on interview, previous school records and testing.
