Liberia has a tropical climate. This means it is hot and humid throughout much of the year. The seasons are split into dry winters with hot days and cool to cold nights and wet, cloudy summers with frequent and heavy showers.


Kreyol is an English-based creole language spoken in Liberia.It is spoken by 1, 500, 000 people as a second language (1984 census) . It is historically and linguistically related to Merico, another creole spoken in Liberia, but is grammatically distinct from it. It is also distinguished from the Kru Pidgin English, a variant of Kreyol used by the Kru fishermen.

Currency:The Liberian Dollar (LRD) is the official currency of the Republic of Liberia since 1943. However, the United States Dollar is used along side the Liberian Dollar currency within the country.
Population: The population of Liberia in 2003 was estimated by the United Nations at 3, 367, 000, which placed it as number 127 in population among the 193 nations of the world. In that year approximately 3% of the population was over 65 years of age, with another 43% of the population under 15 years of age.
Capital City: Monrovia is the capital city of the West African nation of Liberia. Located on the Atlantic Coast at Cape Mesurado, it lies within Montserrado County, the most populous county in Liberia.
