Massey University School of Aviation offers professional and academic degrees, and undertakes research that enhances aviation knowledge. We work closely with airlines to ensure that our programmes and research meet industry needs.

About the School of Aviation
The School of Aviation was established in 1990 to meet airline needs for graduates with a wide industry perspective. Our programmes include academic degrees for aviation managers, and a professional degree for aspiring pilots incorporating flight training with academic studies. Our research contributes to aviation industry knowledge. The school is based at two locations: the Milson Flight Systems Centre at Palmerston North Airport, and the Massey University Manawatū campus in Palmerston North.

Milson Flight Systems Centre The Milson Flight Systems Centre (MFSC) is the main base for the Bachelor of Aviation programme. The School of Aviation was the first New Zealand training organisation to meet the requirements for Civil Aviation Authority Rule Part 141 certification. MFSC houses the latest Diamond Aircraft fleet and flight simulators, flight instruction staff and some academic staff, as well as the school's maintenance facility.		Manawatū Campus Students enrolled in academic programmes, such as the Bachelor of Aviation Management, will study at the Manawatū campus. The Head of School, administrative offices and most academic staff are based here.

We maintain a large fleet of single- and twin-engined training aircraft as part of our Air Transport Pilot programme. All our aircraft are fitted with the latest Garmin cockpit and Spidertracks tracking systems.

In October 2014 Marae TV ran a feature on Massey University student pilots Te Reweti Graham (Te Arawa) & Davidson Taylor (Ngāi Tāmanuhiri/Ngāti Porou), Flight Instructor Ivan Campbell-Collins (Ngāti Maniapoto/Ngāti Maru) and featuring Massey lecturer Dr Savern Reweti (Ngāti Raukawa).
