Mount Aspiring College New Zealand
Mount Aspiring College is a Year 7-13, co-educational state secondary
school located in Wanaka, New Zealand. We are proud to be the community
school for the Upper Clutha area and also the chosen school for students
from throughout New Zealand and from around the world.
With a roll of above 700, we are small enough to know each student well and
recognise their individual character and needs, but large enough to offer an
extensive curriculum that meets the academic and vocational needs of
individual students, while also offering an impressive co-curricular
programme.

from the value placed on positive relationships. From our House Day in Week

Mount Aspiring
College (High School) in Wanaka combines an excellent education in a

Wanaka is a
small town set on a beautiful lake in the Southern Alps of New Zealand.
It is a safe, peaceful and unpolluted location. The town has excellent
services and facilities and as well being the gateway to Mt Aspiring
National Park, and a World Heritage area.
The small size
of the College is its major strength, with a supportive family
atmosphere in which all individuals are recognized. Class sizes are
small.
The College has
achieved excellent academic results over the years and utilizes the
local environment in its comprehensive Outdoor Education Programme which
includes snowboarding, skiing, hiking, rock climbing and kayaking. We
offer an excellent performing arts programme. The music suite includes
practice rooms which are an integral part of the college. The college
offers free musical tuition in a wide range of instruments. Performance
groups include bands, choir, Maori Culture and college productions. We
have a purpose built drama suite.

College accepts students at Year 7 to Year 13 level as well as adult
students who wish to improve their English.

Enrolled students join NZ students
in subject classes which include: Art, Economics, English, Graphics,
Health, Japanese, Mathematics, Music, Outdoor Pursuits, Physical
Education, Sciences -Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Social studies,
Geography, Technology and computer studies. The integrated program
is for students who may study ESOL as well as a full NZ college
curriculum towards New Zealand Qualifications Authority
qualifications (NZQA). -
ESOL classes teach the NZ
curriculum so students can gain necessary qualifications to study
toward university. Internationally recognized exams are taught and
encouraged at our centre. -
General English is
for students of all ages who wish to study ESOL at the ILC. There
is a variety of courses that may be taken at any time of the year.
The Centre provides tuition for students at beginner, intermediate
and advanced levels. The four skills of reading, writing, listening
and speaking are taught along with grammar. A variety of resources
are used with up-to-date texts.
The
International Language Centre (ILC) is situated on the school grounds.
It has two classrooms which includes a lounge area, a kitchen and
bathroom facilities. The language centre provides ESOL classes for
adults, casual students, visiting groups and International College
students. International students are welcome to use it for study after
school.

can apply directly to the College yourself.
If you are
applying without an Agent, you can then apply at the embassy in your
country and get a visa.
