Training
for the Racing Industry in New Zealand
NZ
has a proud reputation internationally as being the best nursery in the
world for the breeding and training of racehorses.
To achieve this reputation many top breeders, trainers and jockeys
have competed successfully on the international stage.

Individual
industry organisations formed the NZ Equine Education Trust who
established an equine academy which offers full time equine courses for
new entrants into the industry. The
Trust is a registered Private Training Establishment.

The
course is registered with the NZ Qualifications Authority and leads to a
national Certificate in Horse Racing qualification.
The duration of the course is 28 weeks and focuses on delivering
training in both stable practice and track riding skills to prepare
graduates for rewarding careers in the industry.
The
Academy is situated in the town of Cambridge which in the Waikato.
The region is the heart of the equine industry in NZ as all sectors
are well represented. This situation enables excellent work experience
