Waitakere College is a successful, multi-cultural , co-educational school with a roll of 1400 students situated in beautiful Waitakere City, Auckland, New Zealand. The College has considerable experience and success in educating international students from many countries. The College has large grounds and gardens surrounding modern buildings, including a new science complex, spacious library, gymnasium, music and drama suites, art, design and photographic centres, up-to-date computer services, technical workshops, auditorium and comfortable well -equipped classrooms.

Courses:

There are a full range of courses in Mathematics, Social Sciences, Science, Art, Design, Music, Business, Computing, Technology, and Languages, particularly English for international students. These courses lead to national examinations and preparation for New Zealand and overseas universities. The College has close links with nearby universities, polytechnics and other training providers. Extra-curricular activities: Many students, including international students, participate with high levels of success in a wide range of sports, (rugby, soccer, tennis, badminton, table tennis, squash, basketball, volleyball, swimming, wrestling, gymnastics, cricket, hockey, athletics, etc.) The College is widely known for its performance in music, arts and cultural activities. English language support: Enrolment is accepted from students of all levels of English language ability, from 'reception' to advanced level. Assessment and individual course planning is given on entry. A skilled team of internationally experienced staff provide language support and tuition to meet each student's needs.

The College is an approved signatory to the Ministry of Education Code for the Pastoral Care of International Students. The safety and happiness of students is very important to us, as well as academic achievement. The skilled international team include an International Student and Home stay coordinator, an executive staff member as Director, student course advisor and specialist teaching staff including native speakers of Chinese and Japanese to assist and counsel students. Student ?Kiwi Buddies?, help new students to adjust to school and New Zealand life. Quality, friendly home stay families are arranged and supervised by the College and provide excellent care, support and hospitality. Many are within walking distance of the College. A school nurse, visiting doctor, counsellors, career advisors and study support available.

Fees: Annual Tuition fees:NZ$10,500; Administration and Pastoral care NZ$1750; Home stay NZ$175 per week (single room, laundry, meals, etc.).
