Learning Support Programme
The Children's House is an international school for children from the age of 12 months through to six. The school is based upon a philosophy which recognizes the uniqueness of each child and the importance of the early years in developing the child's positive self-image, establishing social relationships, building concept information, improving language skills, and encouraging creativity. The school believes that children learn by being involved in the learning process and by exploring the world around them with teachers who are sensitive to their needs.

At present there are 143 children in the school representing several nationalities, and there are nine classes.

The school hours are: Pre-Toddlers: Monday-Friday 09: 00-13: 00; Toddlers: five-day programme. Pre-School: three-year-olds, five-day programme - 09: 15-13: 15. Pre-Kindergarten: four-year-olds, five days a week 09: 30-13: 30. Kindergarten One: five and six year-olds, five days a week, 09: 30-14: 30. Norwegian class 1 and 2: five days a week, 09: 30-13: 30 (These classes are taught in Norwegian and are open for all children). The school now has many children in its full-day programme involving a unique combination of childcare and tuition from 07: 30-16: 30 daily. The size of the school and classes allows the staff to give each child the individual attention and one-to-one relationship important to the child in its formative years, and allows the children to develop through their own individuality and pace. The children and parents are given the opportunity to learn more about different languages and cultures and there is a great deal of interaction between the families attending the school.

The school incorporates the various international programmes so that the children are prepared for and can integrate into local or international schools.
