Profile

IBSB is a small, friendly school with approximately 320 students, aged 3-18, located in the centre of Bucharest, 30 minutes drive from the international airport. One of the strengths of the school is the strong community feeling, with students often saying that they feel that school is like a big family- this is a feeling we work hard to maintain as the school continues to grow.

The school has a strong academic programme with exams results and data readily available on the school website: www.ibsb.ro. Our graduates have been accepted in many of the top universities around the world .

In addition to a strong academic programme, we are able to offer our children a rich extracurricular calendar, including day and residential trips, after school clubs, a strong work experience programme, CAS programme, the DOE, and a colourful array of school and interschool events designed to develop students at all levels.

Through our rich curriculum we continually seek to discover our children's interests and strengths and work together in partnership with our parents, through regular communication, to ensure that our students are continually working towards achieving academic excellence, and to achieving their full potential, overcoming any obstacles that may arise in the course of their education.

Every member of our school is encouraged each day to actively participate in all school events and activities and to make a positive difference to the lives of those around them.

An important aspect of our curriculum is community service, helping our students to mature into confident, responsible, community-minded individuals. Whilst at IBSB students will learn the value of team work and sharing and through the various community projects the school is involved in, develop into caring, socially aware individuals who value and appreciate all people in the community, understanding that all people in this world have some value and can contribute in a worthwhile way.

Respect, tolerance, creativity, and independent learning are a priority at IBSB as we understand that a good education is not only about exam results, but also the emotional and social development of our children.

If you would like any additional information, in addition to that provided in this booklet or on the school website, please do not hesitate to contact the admissions office directly:

We look forward to your visit and to welcoming you and your children to IBSB.
