With simulation training and equipment available for Marine, Electrical and Oil & Gas industries, delegates receive a practical and hands-on grounding in industry practice and requirements. This is not available from a theoretical, tuition-only approach. ASET's facilities for Marine, Electrical and Process training give the company an overall investment in resources in excess of 10M. These facilities have allowed ASET to achieve an impressive reputation in the delivery of Ex, HV/LV, Dynamic Positioning, Stability, Jackup, Radiotelephony, Management of Major Emergencies, Control Room Operator and other Oil & Gas Maintenance and Operations training courses worldwide.ASET has capitalised on the wealth of resources and expertise available within Aberdeen, the oil capital of Europe. Many courses delivered by ASET/Aberdeen College have been devised in conjunction with leading industry bodies such as NET (the National Electrotechnical Training Organisation), ECITB (Electrical Construction and Industry Training Board), the NI (Nautical Institute) and Cogent. Training is also delivered to recognised industry standards and guidelines such as United KingdomOOA (United Kingdom Offshore Operators' Association), IMO, MCA and IMCA. ASETand Aberdeen College are both Investors in People organisations and operate management systems that comply with SQMS (Scottish Quality Management System), an academic version of BS EN ISO 9000. In line with industry demands and expectations, ASET has invested strongly in the implementation and delivery of a range of competence based training and assessment programmes to meet the needs of the Oil, Gas, Process and Marine industries. We are also developing a range of CBT training courses for the Process industry, accredited by City & Guilds. Competence training is a crucial foundation for modern industry in the management and reduction of RISK. Proven competence reduces the costs associated with human error and minimises the potential for expensive downtime and litigation. ASET specialises in the provision of competence based training and is supported by a number of leading industry bodies. Competence based training provides evidence that an individual has the skills knowledge and practical abilities necessary to complete their work-tasks safely and efficiently. Training Facilities Marine Training ASET/Aberdeen College were the first training establishments to offer commercially available simulated training in Dynamic Positioning, Offshore Stability and Ballast Control for semi-submersible rigs and Marine Operations of Self Elevating Platforms (Jack-ups). ASET has continually re-invested in new technology in order to ensure that client needs are met in full. Dynamic Positioning Our DP Training suite provides the latest Kongsberg Simrad and Alstom Duplex simulators. We believe in giving training with significant hands on experience and equipment to the student. Training is validated by the Nautical Institute (NI), and approved by the Norwegian Maritime Directorate (NMD), Maritime Coastguard Agency (MCA) and Flag State Countries. Stability and Ballast Control ASET has been providing courses in semi-submersible stability and ballast control for many years and has the only commercially available ballast control simulator. This simulator provides realistic movement and reaction in relation to changes in sea-state, weight loading and also changes in the mooring pattern. Stability Courses fully comply with the United KingdomOOA guidelines for the selection and training of Ballast Control Operators and the IMO Resolution A891(21)' for the training of MOU operators. Marine Operations of Self Elevating Platforms (Jack-Up) The Jack-Up course utilises a dynamic simulator in a similar way to the Ballast control. Once again, this training is unique and allows students to experience failure modes such as punch-through. Altens Centre Ex (For personnel involved in the installation, inspection and maintenance of electrical equipment in potentially hazardous environments) Proven competence in the use of equipment is vital in the avoidance of commercial and safety related risk and in the majority of countries the law requires proven competence. We are validated to provide courses to the national standard and we provide 60% of the COMPEX training in the United Kingdom. Training for the Oil and Gas Industries (Worldwide)
