1990 Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University, Scotland,
launched an MBA written specifically to meet the needs of the distance
learner by placing the student at the centre of their MBA choices.
To date this unique MBA programme, which combines applied learning and
career focus with choice, has students in over 140 countries and has

The programme
requires you to complete 7 Core Courses and 2 Elective Courses and is
structured to offer you true flexibility by giving you a choice in
almost every aspect of your MBA:

with an Undergraduate degree or passes in your first three courses.
- Study at
your own pace
- Study
from anywhere in the world
- Take 7
Core Courses and 2 Electives in any order to achieve your MBA.
- Take
exams when you are ready (2 major and 2 minor sessions a year)
- Pay fees
on a course-by-course basis
- Combine
courses to achieve a Postgraduate Certificate (3 Courses) and
Diploma (6 Courses) as milestones while you work towards your MBA or
as standalone awards
Comprehensive Learning
The Edinburgh
Business School MBA aims to take the 'distance' out of distance learning
by providing you with a holistic approach to study. For each Course, you
are provided with; a comprehensive Course Text, which includes
all the content required for examination in a specific subject and a
Course Website offering extra materials, access to faculty, peers
and interactive tools to test and focus your learning. A Student Advisor
is also allocated to you throughout your studies to offer support and
answer any queries you may have.
