Plymouth College of Art
Plymouth College
of Art is one of four independent art colleges in the UK with a history
dating back to 1856. It offers a wide variety of post-16, Foundation
Degree, Degree and Masters courses in art, design and media.

The College is
located in the heart of Plymouth's city centre and has earned itself an
enviable reputation as one of the main providers of art and design
education in Devon and Cornwall. The recent extension and refurbishment
of the Tavistock Place building has moved all of the art and design
provision onto one site, making an exciting and new learning environment
for students.
The College
offers two kinds of undergraduate higher education programme - a
three-year BA Honours or a two-year Foundation Degree with the option of
a third 'top up' year to covert a Foundation Degree into a BA. The
College also offers a range of further education courses and the
pre-degree Foundation Diploma in Art & Design. All of the courses place
a high value on 'hands on' making and can be studied on a full or
part-time basis. There is also an extensive range of evening short
courses which students can take advantage of in addition to their main
course.
The College has
many links with local organisations ensuring that students are kept up
to date with new developments within the art, design and media
industries. The Gallery at Plymouth College of Art often hosts high
profile exhibitions and also provides a space for students to exhibit
their work.
