small school with a maximum of 40 students and an average of 28

Our General English
courses are for individuals - learners who like clear help from teachers
they know and trust.
Because it is a small school, with only 30 - 40 adult students,
Severnvale gives the opportunity for all teachers and students to know
each other as people, and so for our experienced teachers to learn what
each student needs most to help them on their way to confident English.
That, and plenty of variety in the classroom (you'll meet at least three
different teachers every day) plus lots of opportunities to talk in
English (we keep strict control over the number of students of each
nationality) will guide you towards the kind of English you want to be
able to use.

Examination English
At Severnvale,
we don't offer examination programmes where you practice for a
particular exam and do almost nothing else.
Why not? Because we know from long experience that examinations test
all your English language skills, and you improve these much
more effectively when you learn the language in context, using your
English in real situations and studying it through general language
lessons. In other words, all English learning is exam preparation. With
good English and a little exam technique you'll pass: with a lot of exam
technique and poor English, you won't - it's as simple as that.
So when your level is near that needed to take your chosen exam, then we
give you examination preparation lessons to help you learn the specific
exam skills you need in order to pass.
Whichever general course you choose, you can add Intensive Examination
Preparation Classes for as long - or as short - a period as you want -
normally for the final 4-15 weeks before you take the exam - for a total
of 5 hours per week.

Severnvale Business English Courses
BUSINESS COURSES are for trainees of Elementary to Advanced level - 4
courses which combine small group and mini-group classes. They are
designed to help you function effectively in the day-to-day practice of
business.
All 4 courses have a core of general English in small groups, with
mini-group tuition for the business elements in Business Module 1,
within which we deal with the essential functions common to everyone
using English in the workplace.
Severnvale Executive English Courses
EXECUTIVE COURSES are for clients of Intermediate to Advanced level
with more specific professional needs - 3 courses combining small-group,
micro-group and 1-to-1 classes.
In addition to the necessary emphasis on general language
development, these courses offer more time for developing business
skills, with work in micro-groups to develop or refine particular
language uses. The individual training sessions can be used for
progressive or remedial work, or to focus on even more specialised
professional requirements.

Shrewsbury
Shrewsbury, the county town of Shropshire, is in the English
