Its own purpose-built campus accommodates up to 160 boys and girls aged 11-17. Sherborne International has an unrivalled reputation for providing the very best start to British independent education for children from non-English speaking, non-British educational backgrounds; it aims to equip each student to take his or her place successfully at a traditional British independent boarding school. Many students enrol on the one-year I/GCSE programme, although there is also a popular two-year option for those whose English skills are not quite as strong. The junior programmes, for students aged 11-14, provide solid foundations on which students can build their future learning. Classes are small - usually a maximum of 8 students - and the full British curriculum is provided. Teachers are exceptional and all are trained, and most qualified, in teaching English as an Additional Language, as well as in their own specialist subject. Each student is prepared for any appropriate public examinations, for example GCSEs, IGCSEs, IELTS or Cambridge English language examinations. Each year the school records excellent examination results in relation to cohort. In the five boarding houses experienced house parents, supported by teams of residential house tutors, provide excellent pastoral care to ensure the happiness, health and welfare of all students. Sherborne International has impressive sporting and musical facilities, including a 25 metre indoor swimming pool, fitness centre, tennis courts, dance studio and sports hall, and extensive sports fields. In addition, most weekends have a busy leisure programme that ensures students are fully occupied on Saturday and Sunday, and evenings are also well structured. Sherborne International offers a long-established, intensive residential summer school programme with a full English curriculum for boys and girls aged 7-17, covering all levels of English from beginner to advanced. Sherborne International is accredited by the British Council as an international study centre across all subjects, and by the Independent Schools Association.
