Climate:Zaire Climate varies between tropical rain forest experienced in the Congo River basin to tropical wet-and-dry in the southern uplands to tropical highland in eastern region of the country. The equatorial forests of the region the temperature varies considerably between day and night.
Language:Almost 242 languages are spoken in the Democratic Republic of the Congo or Zaire. Languages of Zaire are as many as their ethnic groups. Mainly four Zaire languages enjoy national status, namely Kongo, Swahili, Lingala and Tshiluba. The official language of Zaire is French.
Currency:Zaire Currency unit is Zaire. This unit of money in Zaire was introduced in 1967, replacing the franc. The currency of Zaire has evolved through two stages. Zaire was the currency during the year 1967 to 1993. A new version New Zaire was introduced in the year 1993.
Population: Zaire Population comprises of people from different tribe, religion and sect. In 1992 the population of Zaire was approximated to be 39.1 million, which makes it the most populous among the sub-Saharan African countries. In the last official census, conducted in July 1984 the population was 29.7 million, which was nearly double of 16.2 million, the population in 1960.
Capital City: Kinshasa is the capital and largest city of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The city is located on the Congo River.
