As a medical transcriptionist, you?ll be responsible for turning doctors? daily dictation tapes into clear, concise, print and electronic documents. Such records are the main reference for health care decisions made by patients and their physicians. They must be produced in a timely, accurate, and totally confidential manner.

Medical transcriptionists enjoy a taste of medical training and exposure to many different medical disciplines. They work in hospitals, physicians? offices, and in a wide range of other medical facilities. More and more, work is being outsourced to independent contractors who operate their businesses from home.
